Cole Kpekawa’s late header clinched Maidenhead a 1-0 win against Bromley at York Road

The Magpies thought they had got off to a dream start when in the 2nd minute Nathaniel George hit the back of the net however the linesman raised his flag as offside.

Bromley grew into the first half and their best chance came when Adam Marriot played through Harry Forster one on one with his shot being saved by Alexis Andre JR.

Bromley thought they had taken the lead on the half an hour mark when Adam Marriot slotted the ball into the back of the net but was ruled out for offside.

Maidenhead managed to break the deadlock with only 5 minutes remaining when Kpekawa rose highest at the back post and headed past Bromley keeper Tom Smith from a Charlee Adams free kick.

Bromley still continued to pile on the pressure with four consecutive corners in additional time and Reynolds almost equalised from a header although Andre JR made a great save to keep his clean sheet and give Maidenhead all three points.

“Our resilience and desire showed and we got the win”, said Head Coach Ryan Peters.

Maidenhead now look towards mid-week where they head to Promotion chasing Wrexham before hosting Dagenham & Redbridge in the FA Cup first round.
