Fans pray Tiger can make his biggest comeback yet

By George Watkins

On Tuesday 23rd of February golfing and sporting icon Tiger Woods was rushed to hospital after a single vehicle incident down Hawthorne Blvd, Los Angeles. Woods who was driving alone at the time in his SUV ended up hitting the central reservation in the road before rolling his car multiple times and ending up off the tarmac which is a notorious location for car accidents according to LAPD.

It’s not Woods first time being involved in a car accident and any further details on how the incident occurred are still unknown. The former world number one was rescued from his driver’s seat by a fire crew before being taken straight to Harbour UCLA Medical Centre where he underwent surgery on a fractured leg and a shattered ankle amongst other minor injuries.

Tiger Woods will not face any criminal charges for this incident as his driving was not deemed reckless and LA county sheriff Alex Villanueva confirming he was not under the influence of alcohol. Villanueva also stated that he believes it was a pure accident, the stretch of road is downhill and windy causing multiple accidents in that area alone.

Tiger Woods had said earlier this year he hoped to fully recover from a reoccurring back problem in time for this year’s Masters in April. With these new injuries and such a scaring encounter, at the age of 45 will we ever see Tiger Woods on the golf course again? A modern day icon, one of if not the best to ever play the sport with 15 major wins including five green jacket wins at the Masters, with so much golf left to play this year and the possibility of crowds returning after 12 months away, it sure does look unlikely that we will be seeing Tiger compete again this year.

Almost anyone in golf will tell you to never write off the man that is Tiger Woods especially with all that he has been through in the last ten years however it must be said, have we seen Tigers last dance without even knowing it? Sports fans from across the world will hope this statement is not correct and pray for Tigers health, so that the man that changed golf can once again prove the doubters wrong and the king of comebacks can make one last return.
