Four Goal Thriller in London

By Ben Newdick

FOUR GOAL THRILLER IN LONDON AS EAGLES HOLD THE GUNNERS TO A DRAW AT THE EMIRATES.

There was a dramatic finish at the emirates last night as arsenal drew 2-2 with Crystal Palace in the premier league.

Alexandre Lacazette put a dampener on Patrick Vieira’s return to Arsenal as he fired in a last-minute equaliser as the Gunners manage to rescue a point from an impressive Crystal Palace performance.

This was after the home side started the brightest inside the first ten minutes, when Nicolas Pepe’s shot was parried away by Vicente Guaita, but only into the path of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who finished coolly at the back post.

It was after that though that the Eagles sparked into life and applied the pressure when Conor Gallagher forced a brilliant save out of Aaron Ramsdale when he volleyed towards the corner from the edge of the box.

It was shortly after that Palace turned it on when Christian Benteke slotted into the bottom right-hand corner and then took the lead after a fantastic strike from Odsonne Edouard that rattled in off the underside of the crossbar.

Palace, however, were unable to withstand plenty of Arsenal pressure, Kieran Tierney found himself free from close range inside the box and almost broke the crossbar in half with a thunderous half volley, shortly before the home side levelled in the final moments after the ball pinballed around in the Palace 6-yard box as it fell to the Arsenal number nine.

This result meant it had left Palace feeling as though it was a point gained in their journey of ascension during their somewhat so far impressive Premier League campaign. But for Arsenal it was two points lost in their aim for the top four Champions League spots.
