Premier League team of the season so far
By Louie Russo Brownlie
With the Premier League season now halted for the commencing of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, we can now look at 11 of the best performers of the campaign to date:

Goalkeeper – Nick Pope (Newcastle United)
Under Eddie Howe, Newcastle have started the season in imperious form and much of that is due to their resolute defence. Nick Pope, who signed in the summer, has a league high of clean sheets (7.) If his impressive shot stopping form is to continue, he could well push the Toon towards a Champions League place.
Right Back – Kieran Trippier (Newcastle United)
Two for two for Newcastle and this man has been another huge reason for Newcastle’s good form this season. The Newcastle captain has been a brick wall in defence this season and this combined with his fantastic set pieces has caused him to be a real outlet.
Centre Back – William Saliba (Arsenal
Many judged Mikel Arteta’s decision to send Saliba out on loan during the last two campaigns but it is now starting to look like a master stroke. With a brilliant turn of pace and defensive awareness that far surpasses his age of 21, the Frenchmen really does have the world at his feet.
