Sacramento Kings vs Boston Celtics Match Preview

By Richard Ali Imaghodor

 This is a match featuring two of the best offences in the NBA.

 The Boston Celtics are 7-1 at the TD Garden.

 The Sacramento Kings ended their 7-game win streak after a road loss to the Atlanta Hawks.

This match up could represent just how dominant both teams are on offence this season, but it can also showcase their underwhelming defences.

The Celtics have the best offensive rating in the league at 118.8 whilst the Kings have the second-best offensive rating (116.8).

The Celtics meanwhile are 16th in defensive rating; a very surprising stat considering they were the best defensive team last season.

The Sacramento Kings do come into this game sitting 27th in defensive rating, in which will need to improve quickly.

Boston won the series against the Kings last season, as they won the first game 75-128 and the second game 126-97, all which are blow outs.

Of course, this season everyone expects a much more competitive game as the Kings are finally looking the part in the West.

The Kings won 8 of their last 10 games whilst averaging 120 points per game this season, the highest average in the league.

Boston have also been in impressive form after winning 9 of their last 10 games whilst being second in the league points per game (119.7).

The Celtics will still be without defensive anchor Robert Williams III as he recovers from knee surgery, whilst the Kings currently have no injury concerns.

DeAaron Fox may get his first all-star appearance this year after starting the season brilliantly, averaging 26 points a game in his last 10 games.

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown remain as one of the most devastating duos in the league as they both combined for 68 points against the Dallas Mavericks.

After coming off a disappointing loss to the Atlanta Hawks (106-115), a win for the Kings would make them tied for second in the west.

The Celtics will want to continue their dominating start to the season as they got their fourteenth win of the year against the Mavericks.

A win for them puts them 2.5 games ahead as the first seed over the second seed Milwaukee Bucks.
