Barnet Vs Torquay United Match Report
By Adam Millership
Barnet are back to winning ways at home as they beat Torquay United 1-0 as Number 5 Marvin Armstrong hammered home an early goal to secure all three points as Barnet keep their place in the playoffs. While Armstrong scored the goal, it was their keeper that kept them out as Laurie Walker made two brilliant saves to deny Torquay the equaliser. While the first half was a mixture of both teams. The second was dominated by Torquay searching for that goal which was make the game 1-1 but Barnet’s defence were rock solid and determined to get that clean sheet.
This result means in all competitions Barnet have not conceded a goal in four games, which means Barnet have jumped up to 6th and are three points clear of Solihull Moors who are in 7th while Torquay slump down to the bottom of the table with pressure building on the team, with only having three wins while also losing twelve.
this could not come at a better time for Armstrong as his last goal was just under a month ago when he scored against Maidenhead united in the 82nd minute to give Barnet the win. Torquay United next fixture is at home where they take on Gateshead with this game being a battle as 24th take on 22nd as Torquay will try and find the win. As for Barnet they play that biggest game of the season so far with heading to League One side Accrington Stanley for FA Cup round two.
