Isthmian North Match: Hullbridge Sports vs AFC Sudbury Match Report

Lower Road was host to a game that lacked real quality from either side but saw AFC Sudbury come away with a 2-0 win against Hullbridge Sports who have only won one game at home so far this season.
Goals from Joshua Pollard and Nnamdi Nwachuku took home the three points for the away side as they look to climb into the play-off spots.
With neither side creating any clear-cut chances in the first half, along came a second half which was filled with a lot of controversy.
The first chance of the second half came for The Bridge. Which saw a long ball from the defence put Harry Honesty through for a one on one versus goalkeeper Alfie Stronge, who stood his ground well and made a simple save.
Yellows The Suds made the breakthrough moments after through a free kick which was met by a free header at the back post, only for Lewis Greene to spill the shot into the path of Alex Moss. Who was challenged by Pollard which saw the ball trickle over the line.
Sudbury leading goal scorer Nwachuku doubled their lead with a cross that was directed to Joshua Mayhew who was deemed to be in an offside position by the assistant.
After consulting with the referee the assistant changed his mind and the goal was given. This was Nwachuku’s 15th goal of the season. A striker who really is in top form at the moment.
These three points for the away side see them move up to 6th in the table as they take on Basildon United on Saturday. Meanwhile Hullbridge Sports drop a place into 16th as they look to bounce back against Bury FC on Saturday.
