Tiger Woods: Road to Recovery

After being taken to hospital following a car accident on the 23rd of February. Tiger Woods is currently recovering from multiple leg injuries caused by the crash.

Driving alone in Los Angeles at the time, it was confirmed by a local Sherriff that Woods was not under the influence of alcohol. The Sherriff also stated that the road was notorious for car accidents due to its bendy and downhill snake-like layout.

Tiger Woods is currently 45 and has won 15 majors in his golfing career, a true icon and someone who Is respected by all his fellow professionals on the PGA tour. So much so that on the Sunday at the WGC- Workday Championship in Florida, many players tributed to Tiger by wearing his famous red and black on the final day. Tony Finau, Tommy Fleetwood, Patrick Reed, Brooks Koepka and Rory McIlroy are just a few names of those who showed tribute to the great man.

Woods was taken back by what he saw on that Sunday from his hospital bed. He tweeted that same day saying “It is hard to explain how touching today was when I turned on the tv and saw all the red shirts. To every golfer and every fan, you are truly helping me get through this tough time.”

Rory McIlroy has said recently that Tiger is getting better and there is a possibility he could be home soon. Tiger has been in touch with a number of his friends as he watches them live on TV but has yet to face the media amid his recovery.

It is unlikely we will see Tiger back on the course for some time, but you can never write off the king of comebacks. Fans across the world will be pleased that Tiger’s condition is improving but In terms of what is next for Tiger in this road to recovery we still do not know.

Woods has also been respectively quiet on his social media pages. An official announcement from Tiger is yet to be heard, who is leaving fans eagerly awaiting. For now though his recovery continues and we all wish him well and a speedy recovery.
